There are few things in life better than treating yourself to a pamper day or shopping spree. Topping up on new make up or skincare is a great way to feel refreshed and gorgeous! So treated myself to the complete Bare Minerals Get Started Complexion Kit. I first got hooked on Bare Minerals a few years ago when I got one of their first starer kits for Christmas, once it ran out I always meant to re-buy it but never got round to it.
Bare Minerals best seller is their award winning foundation, which blends perfectly with your skin while feeling light and airy to wear. A little really goes a long way with this product. (The trick is to allow the product to warm up on your skin by applying it in circles with a brush.)
The best thing I found about the products is how light it feels on your skin. Make up, especially if it’s more high street than designer, can often feel quite heavy and wet on your skin, which isn’t the case with any of the Bare Minerals products. They pride themselves on being light, long lasting and help toward making your skin look and feel healthier. They don’t use any harsh chemicals in their products only natural derived minerals (whatever they are) with the end result being your skin can really breathe even under full coverage.
You can order the set online but it’s best to go in to House of Fraser, Boots or wherever they have a concession stand and have one of their consultants match your skin tones properly. My colouring was Medium Tan and my set included:
- Prime Time™ Foundation Primer, size 15ml
- ORIGINAL SPF 15 Foundation in Medium Tan, size 2g
- MATTE SPF 15 Foundation in Medium Tan, size 1.5g
- Warmth All-Over Face Color, size 0.57g
- Mineral Veil® Finishing Powder, size 0.75g
- Flawless Application Face Brush
- Keep-sake Makeup Clutch
So with this you get your basic primer and foundation, but the Warmth All-Over Face Color also works as part your contouring tools. If your not 100% sure on how best to contour your face then you can ask the consultant to sure you the best technique using the Warmth All-Over. Everyone’s face shape is different so while watching YouTube videos is a great way to start learning how to contour, it might not always be the best fit for your face and features.
In addition to the Complexion Set I also picked up Bare Minerals READY Luminizer Duo which is my absolute favourite product I own. Once you have contoured using the Warmth All- Over, highlight your cheekbones use the Luminizer Duo. As my facial features are quite close together I usually only contour the hollows of my cheek/ jaw line and highlight my cheek bones – I know for me trying to contour more than that for me will end up in a mess.
So if your looking for a great foundation set that includes products that can be used for contouring I’d say give the Complexion Kit a try. They also have specialised contouring products as well but I find this works well for everything I would need. Let me know what you’re favourite Bare Minerals products are and what other foundation set you’ve found that are awesome.
lots of love
