How to Create a Travel Capsule Wardrobe

Since my last travel post ‘5 Top Tips to Travel Light‘ I’ve had requests for more travel based post so here is my long weekend His and Hers travel capsule wardrobes. Last time I mentioned the key to packing light was finding the right bag and these leather beauties from Mahi are it! I fell completely in love with Mahi gorgeous real leather over night bags, each one is made to order and it had the options to be monogrammed.

As well as the right bag you need the right capsule wardrobe. Having a travel capsule wardrobe where everything goes with everything else will only make packing easier but it will also make getting ready once you get there simpler. Here are my key His and Hers pieces to build your travel capsule wardrobe.

For Him

Choosing Your Colour Palette

Blue is always a safe colour palette for men’s clothes as there is plenty to find that will go together and it is easy to put together. If you’re going for blue then stick to blues, navies, creams, denims, black, white and grey. They all work well together and make a great nautical look for the summer. Alternatively you can choose greens, brown, creams, grey or go monochrome with hints of red or yellow.

Key Base Items

Jeans. Check. Chinos. Check. These are your two staples for your guy’s wardrobe, the colour and wash of denim can differ depending on your colour palette.

Statement Pieces

Mix up plain t-shirts with stripes, florals and other print shirts using the same colour scheme. Graphic tees are always great, and a casual denim shirt can be thrown on in the evening. All of this can be effortlessly mixed and matched together and is easy to roll up in the Columbus bag. Personalise your bag with these on trend nautical enamel pins, that cool funky and fun.

For Her

Choosing Your Colour Palette

For my Hers travel capsule I’ve embraced the must-have summer trend – flamingo fashion. Oasis currently has some amazing flamingo pieces, so keep you palette monochrome and add splashes of colour with pink and flamingo  print.

Key Pieces

Jeans and culottes are classic travel items and choosing them in white and black will allow you to easily build in colour and prints around the block neutral bases.

Statement Items

Selecting one theme or print and then working your palette around that is a great way to build your capsule wardrobe around key styles. By using a mixture of block colours, prints and neutrals these pieces are perfectly versatile and interchangeable making sure your outfit is always fierce but never over packed.

Well guys I hope this has helped you create your travel capsule wardrobe, and make sure you check out my 5 Top Tips To Travel Light article too.

lots of love
